Company History

who we are

Cochrane & Associates was established in 2006 with the goal of helping companies build their brand and increase their profits.  Mr. Cochrane, the company's founder, witnessed the need for these types of specialized business development and consulting services for the IAQ and EHS industries after spending years in those industries as a senior level executive.

In 2010, Cochrane & Associates added the IAQ Video Network to the company's offerings.  The IAQ Video Network produces educational videos about a wide range of IAQ and EHS topics.  It also creates custom videos for companies, associations and certifying bodies.

Mr. Cochrane's past endeavors have included acting as Vice President of Business Development for Chromosomal Laboratories, Inc. Chromosomal opened their doors in 2004 to provide DNA analyses for the forensic, paternity and ancestry testing markets.  The company was able to transform from a start-up laboratory to one of the fastest growing DNA laboratories in just two years.  The company was eventually acquired by one of the largest and most respected global DNA providers in 2012.

Prior to that, Mr. Cochrane was the Director of Marketing for Aerotech P&K, the largest commercial indoor air quality laboratory in the world. Aerotech P&K came about after Aerotech Laboratories, Inc., was acquired by the Severn Trent Group of Companies which initially acquired P&K Microbiology Services, Inc.

Before Aerotech was acquired, Mr. Cochrane was the Vice President of Business Development for the company.  He joined Aerotech in 1997 when the company had less than 10 employees.  Through the use of strategic marketing initiatives, he was able to help grow the company to over 330 employees in just 4 years.

During his time with Aerotech, Mr. Cochrane was also the President of Biohazard Educational Productions, LLC.  Biohazard Educational Productions was a documentary production company that specialized in producing films that dealt with important environmental issues.

Mr. Cochrane is currently a National Advisory Board Member for the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) and is a Marketing Committee Member for both the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and the Environmental Information Association (EIA).
